Mapping Your Outdoor World
Students will explore a nearby outdoor space as they practice spacial reasoning, measurement and design. For more great mapping activities check out these resources from National Geographic!

Diversity of Leaves
Students will collect fall leaves, make leaf rubbings, and use a dichotomous key to identify the trees the leaves came from.

Lichen Poetry
After exploring and searching for lichen students will collect one specimen and write a guided poem based on their observations.

Observing and Predicting Weather
Students will collect and interpret weather data and consider how it relates to seasonality as they learn to predict the weather using a few key observations.

Build-A-Bug
Students will go outside and explore as they look for insects to observe. After taking note of different insect parts, students will roll the dice to create their own original insect drawing.
